ABC previously announced its support of the Yes for Jacksonville campaign, Jacksonville Mayor Curry’s and the City Council’s proposal to address pension reform with the extension of a ½-cent sales tax.
“We’re pleased to see Mayor Curry and City Council taking steps to resolve the pension issue with the ½-cent extension,” said Janet Masterson, ABC Board Chair. “We understand that this has been a difficult and complex issue without a clear solution, and we respect the tenacity of the Mayor and the Council toward the most fair and effective resolution. We see it as a path to move forward and turn the conversation to other priorities for the City.”
ABC Florida First Coast Chapter was chartered in 1993 and consists of more than 140 member companies representing thousands of northeast Florida construction industry professionals. The Florida First Coast Chapter represents all specialties within the industry and is comprised primarily of firms that perform work in the industrial and commercial sectors of the industry.
